A Day in Midway, Utah: Quaint, Cozy, and Full of Surprises

If Park City is the buzzy big sibling, Midway is the charming cousin who knows how to slow things down without ever being boring. Just a quick drive over the hill, this little Swiss-inspired town has plenty of character packed into its streets — think fresh-baked bread, small-town bookstores, and gelato worth the detour.

Here are a few must-stops when you’re in Midway:

Fill Up on Flavor

Midway Bakery - The kind of spot where the smell alone is worth the trip. Everyone that works there is so sweet and everything I've tried is good. They're known for their HUGE cinnamon rolls, but also grab all the pastries, and their garlic baguette is dangerously good. It's a small shop but they just opened their patio which is a delight on a nice day!

The Pizza Yard - A local go-to for wood-fired pies and a lively backyard-style vibe. Perfect for a casual night with friends or family.

Dandelion Gelato - New! From the same owner as the ebloved Pizza Yard, go enjoy creamy and dreamy gelato — and yes, you’ll want two scoops.

Lola’s Kitchen - I love this fast, casual but still so cute spot! Their power bowl is my favorite.

Shop & Stroll

Folklore Bookshop - A cozy bookstore that feels like stepping into a story itself. Great for browsing or snagging a unique gift.

Beljar Home - A little slice of whimsy with curated finds, home goods, and treasures you didn’t know you needed until now.

The Dainty Pear - This place will help you be the hostess with the most cutestes stuff! They also just opened Olive Press Café and it’s SO cute.

Ballerina Farm -Their very first brick-and-mortar store just opened in Midway, and it’s a delight. Stock up on all your farm favorites (plus a few surprises), and don’t miss the daily special sandwiches — they’re the kind you’ll think about long after the last bite.

Don’t Forget the Small Moments

Midway is best enjoyed unhurried: wandering through local shops, grabbing a treat, or sitting on a bench to soak in mountain views. Every corner feels like a discovery. But note that most of the stores/restaurants are closed on Sunday, so plan accordingly! But this town has a way of slowing life down (in the best way).
